When you search, we first show every business we've checked that covers your area and does the work you need, in alphabetical order, with our green stamp.
Below them we list other firms registered on the public Companies House register as that trade in the area, also A to Z, without the stamp. For gas work we only ever show Gas Safe registered engineers we've checked.
What we never do
- Nobody can pay to appear higher. If we ever offer featured places, they'll be clearly labelled as paid.
- We never give our stamp, or a profile with photos and details, to a business that hasn't approved it and been checked.
- Any business listed from Companies House can ask to be removed, and we'll take it off.
- We never buy, write or hide reviews.
Who appears
A business appears once we've seen its public liability insurance (in date) and checked the owner's identity or Companies House record. For gas work, we also check its Gas Safe registration, and only Gas Safe registered engineers appear for boiler and gas jobs. When a check runs out, the business comes off the list until it's renewed.
