How we check trades
The green stamp only appears when we've seen the evidence ourselves. If a check runs out, the stamp comes off until it's renewed.
- Insurance seen. Public liability certificate in date, expiry tracked.
- Identity checked. Owner ID or Companies House record matched.
- Qualifications verified. Gas Safe, NICEIC or NAPIT looked up where the law or the job needs it.
- Genuine reviews only. One review per real job. We never buy, write or hide reviews.
What the green stamp means
We've seen the evidence ourselves, and it's in date. Each profile shows what we checked and when.
- Public liability insurance: we see the certificate and note when it runs out.
- Identity: photo ID of the owner, or the company's Companies House record.
- Gas work: we check the engineer's number on the Gas Safe Register, and its expiry. Only Gas Safe engineers are shown for boiler and gas jobs.
- Electrical work: where they're in a scheme such as NICEIC or NAPIT, we look it up.
When a check runs out
We remind the business 30 days and 7 days before. If it isn't renewed, the stamp comes off automatically and they stop getting jobs until it's back.
Businesses without the stamp
We also list firms from the public Companies House register and OpenStreetMap, without the stamp. We haven't checked those, so ask about insurance and qualifications before you hire.
